The SAND app contains factual information about drugs and alcohol in the form of look-up information, in bite-size chunks. There is also an educational quiz about drugs. SAND is aimed at adolescents and their families and friends to provide factual information about drugs and alcohol and the associated effects and risks.
The Sand App is published by the North Dublin Regional Drug and Alcohol Task Force, which was set up by the government in 2003 along with 9 other Regional Drug Task Forces in Ireland to develop and implement plans to respond to drug problems in our areas. It funds a number of local drug and alcohol supports for young people in the area.
SAND stands for Substance Abuse North Dublin.
